The Islamic Studies Department of Asian University of Bangladesh organized a seminar on the occasion of its 28th founding anniversary. Rashedul Alam, Lecturer of Islamic Studies Department presented the main article in the seminar.
The Seminar was held at the seminar room of the permanent campus of AUB in Ashulia on Friday . The seminar was inaugurated by the opening speech of the Assistant professor of the department Arifur Rahman. The Speech was attended by AUB founder and founding vice chancellor Professor Dr. Abul Hasan Muhammad Sadek as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Md Nurul Islam, AUB Acting Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer , was present as guest of honor. Professor Dr. Jubair Muhammad Ehsanul Haque, Chairman of the Arabic Department of Dhaka University, was present as the main speaker. Associate Professor Dr. Enamul Haque Azad, Chairman of Islamic Studies Department of AUB , presided over the event.
Deans of various faculties, teachers, students and staff of the department were also present.
AUB founder Dr. Sadek said in the speech of the chief guest, “As Muslims we have some responsibilities and duties and in fulfilling those duties, we must be diligent in understanding the correct form of Islam and implementing it in our own lives. Islam is one and the same, there is no different form. There is no substitute for ethics in higher education. ” Finally he thanked the Department of Islamic Studies for organizing the seminar.
In the speech of the guest of honour, AUB Acting Vice-Chancellor said, Islam is beautiful if we know and accept it. There is no substitute for ethics not only in higher education but in all spheres.
Chairman of the Arabic Department of Dhaka University said, “Ethics in education is the need of the hour. Immoral education makes people interested in usury, bribery and corruption. Moral education should be universal only then society will be beautiful.”
Chairman of the Islamic Studies Departmentof AUB , Associate Professor Dr. Enamul Haque Azad expressed his gratitude to all the person seminar and hoped for more interesting events from the department in the future.
Sirajul Islam, Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies Department, conducted the program. Finally, the program was closed by thanking everyone those attended the program.
