Six construction workers tragically lost their lives in a road accident yesterday evening (Wednesday) in Rangamati, Bangladesh.
A truck carrying the workers plunged into a roadside ditch near Sajek, Baghaichari Upazila. Six workers were confirmed dead on the scene, with eight others sustaining injuries. Firefighters and police personnel responded swiftly, rescuing the injured and transporting them to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet been able to identify the deceased workers. Sajek Union Parishad Chairman, Atulal Chakma, believes the victims were involved in border road construction. The condition of the injured workers is reported to be critical.
